Five star chef joins deluxe Sandton hotel
The Atrium, situated at InterContinental Sandton Towers is gaining new ground in its quest to establish itself as a restaurant destination in its own right. This exciting process has been expedited by the recent addition of new Executive Chef, Berno du Plessis, an experienced well trained chef with a good track record, working in some of the finest five star hotels in and around Johannesburg.
Berno has trained and worked in luxurious hotels including The Palace at Sun City, The Saxon and most recently as the Chef de Cuisine at Zafferano’s, the in house restaurant at The Park Hyatt. His warm and pleasant nature is contagious, making him a popular and approachable chef in the industry.
With The Atrium wine list receiving an Award of Excellence from Diners Club for 2006 and InterContinental Sandton Towers is the only five star property in Johannesburg to be awarded this prestigious accolade, the onus will be on the new chef to deliver a menu to match.
