The Sunday Times is proud to announce that Ching-He Huang and Gino D'Acampo are the two BBC celebrity chefs joining Reza Mahammad at the 2008 Sunday Times Food Show. The Italians, Indians, and Chinese are all nationalities renowned for their love of food and while these much loved chefs all live and work in London, their cooking styles encapsulate the very best of their native cuisines. They also represent the global trend that modern upscale foodies have embraced with a passion - the art of delving into and drawing from other cultural cuisines and techniques, ingredients and flavourings. The average urban family eats a global diet with a weekly menu likely to include pasta Alfredo, chicken tikka, beef stir fry, Thai green curry, or tortillas and refried beans.
The show at the Sandton Convention Centre from 3- 6 July caters for all those tastes and more, promising a packed food programme that will see our celebrity chefs demonstrate their culinary skills, create their signature dishes and cook together to create a global banquet for the audience to enjoy. All three are seasoned food-show chefs that enjoy the excitement of live cooking action as well as the opportunity to meet loyal fans.
Reza Mahammad is back by popular demand after wowing crowds at last year's Sunday Times Food Show. The owner of the well-known restaurant Star of India in London for more than 25 years, Reza has an enormous following since his television series, A Place in France II and III, Coconut Coast and United States of Reza. His inimitable style and personality, innovative Indian fusion food and use of spices make for mouth-watering food theatre.

Another lover of the hot stuff is Ching - a liberal user of potent red chillies - whose cooking style is rooted in a southern Taiwanese cuisine. What most locals will be delighted to know is that Ching herself is an ex-South African! Her family immigrated to South Africa from Taiwan when she was five years old before moving to London six years later. Ching's diminutive appearance belies a dynamic television presence that led to her own show, Ching's Kitchen. Since then Ching has made many TV appearances in the UK, becoming a regular guest on ITV's Saturday Cooks and Daily Cooks, UKTV's Market Kitchen and Five's Cooking The Books, among others.
Her first cookbook, China Modern was published in 2006 and BBC Food fans can watch her first primetime series made for BBC Two in July 2008. A self-taught cook and food entrepreneur, Ching is the culinary brain behind two well-known brands that retail in UK stores, "Ching's Noodles" and "Tsu," a range of health beverages.
Gino D'Acampo, of An Italian in Mexico fame, is a favourite with food lovers the world over. His romantic accent coupled with a hard-to-resist exuberance make him a delightful addition to this fabulous line-up. Gino was a mere boy when he followed his grandfather into the profession by enrolling at Luigi de Medici Catering College at the age of 15. He honed his talents in restaurants in Europe, including Perignon in Nice and a spell as Head Chef at Sylvester Stallone's Mambo King in Marbella before coming to the UK at the age of 20.
In the past, Gino has worked on Head Chef assignments in London restaurants, including Pane Vino and The Orchard before joining a major Italian food company as Development Chef. He has also created recipes for Tesco, and owns the import and distribution company, Bonta Italia, and continues his work as Development Consultant Chef for ready-meals manufacturing companies. Gino's first book, Fantastico! was published in October 2007 and his second, Bellissimo! follows later this year.
Tickets to watch your favourite BBC celebrity chefs will go on sale in May.
